Color Signature Colorscopie

Colorscopie allows you to analyze and determine the ideal colors that suit you best, helping you discover the language of colors and apply it to your clients.
The colors we wear influence our appearance, the depth or sweetness of our gaze, and even our behavior.
The Colorscopie test helps you compare colors classified according to seasonal harmony and identify their effects on each individual's image.
The Colorscopie test was first developed in France in 1985 and quickly spread worldwide across professional fields related to beauty and aesthetics.
Johannes Itten
Color analysis is based on the theory of seasons, a true discovery initiated by the research of painter Johannes Itten.
Between 1919 and 1923, Johannes taught at the Bauhaus school in Weimar, where he began studying the laws of color. He created the cycle of the four seasons and observed a connection between colors and human faces.
Seasons and Colors
Each season expresses a distinct character through tones of blue or yellow and has either a light or dark base intensity.
The face creates its own harmony through skin tone, hair, and eye color. Identifying a client's season allows you to suggest the right hair color and makeup tones.
Frequent Reactions from 12 Years of Research:
- Summers often prefer warm colors, blending autumn and summer shades.
- For clothing: recommend rosy-brown instead of golden-brown and blue-grey instead of black.
- For hair: blonde balayage styles and contrasts on dark bases are popular choices.
- Winters sometimes think they belong to autumn due to their matte skin.
- Suggested: coppery hair shades and golden-beige makeup tones.
- Autumns may mistakenly prefer cool shades to hide freckles, but stronger colors tend to darken them.
- Hair suggestions: coppery brown or red-copper gradients.
- Springs rarely choose dark colors and prefer a playful combination of bright warm and cool tones.
Attention to Makeup!
Intense makeup can distort the results of the test. It's best to remove or neutralize strong makeup before analysis.
Remember: the goal of the test is to engage the client in selecting her hair color, not impose a choice.
It is ideal to set up a private area for the color test, as most clients prefer some privacy during the process.
Face Observation
The face is analyzed in three dimensions: length, width, and depth.
Main observation groups:
- The triangle of eyes–nose–mouth
- The architecture of the eyes–nose–mouth
- The facial relief (bone structure)
Three Facial Sections:
- Upper section: Forehead and eyes
- Middle section: Nose and cheeks
- Lower section: Mouth and jawline
Every change in hairstyle or color subtly alters the face's appearance.
Personal Touch in Makeup:
- Light and shadow sculpting (contouring)
- Color for liveliness
- Lines for structure
Examples of Hairstyles and Matching Makeup:
- Long bangs: Emphasize the lower eyelid with liner or shadow.
- Short bangs: Accentuate the eyebrows and arch of the eyelid with soft shadowing.
- Short "à la garçonne" cuts: Shadow the moving eyelid towards the outer eye corner.
- Layered cuts at the nape: Highlight lips and apply subtle eye shading.
- Short hair pulled back: Blush on the cheekbones for definition.
- Layered bob cuts: Apply blush on the outer cheek area and under the cheekbones.
- Loose face-framing strands with volume: Blush under the eyes, emphasizing cheekbone relief.
