ATG / Against the Grain

“Against the Grain” (ATG) is a shaving pass where the razor moves directly against the natural direction of hair growth. It provides the closest possible shave but also increases the risk of irritation or ingrown hairs. ATG passes are usually recommended for experienced wet shavers seeking an ultra-smooth finish.
