Greencult safety razor GC2.0 is the successor to our all-rounder GC1.1 . Shorter grip, new design, different base plates and blasted finish. The safety razor is made of stainless steel 303 in Austria.
In contrast to commercially available cast safety razors, most of which come from Asia, ours is CNC milled. The production from high-quality stainless steel offers a number of advantages such as individual tolerances, a better fit of the blade and a more robust material.
What makes our GC2.0 special:
Manufactured 100% in Austria : in our family business in Götzis, Vorarlberg
functional design : non-slip grooves + short handle
Hidden blade ends : A razor head where the razor blade does not protrude laterally - no more unnecessary cutting!
Made of stainless steel: the entire planer is made of 303 stainless steel, which is 100% European (AT, DE, IT, PRT, etc. depending on the supplier). We don't have a chrome plated finish (a chemically polluting production process due to inferior base material) like many of the other cast planes on the market.
Blade Gap: 0.65mm
Blade Exposure: 0.10mm
I: mild, suitable for beginners, for daily shaving
“With the I-plate, it's exactly how you would imagine a smooth planer. 100% Safe, 100% Irritation Free, yet thorough.”
II: for beginners and advanced users, for daily shaving, slightly more lasting than I
“A simple and easy shave. More thorough than with the I-plate. A little less blade feel than the III, but there is hardly any difference in the result.”
III: more direct, for advanced users, 3-day beard
“The III plate is noticeably milder than IV, but still direct. It would need a much sharper blade to match the IV.”
IV: direct, advanced, 3-5 day beard
"The IV plate is thorough, direct, very sustained and awesome for someone with a 5 day beard and experience, but not for a beginner."
Plastic disc as scratch protection : As a special highlight, we have pressed a plastic disc directly into the handle by hand. This prevents scratches from occurring between the two metal parts at the transition to the headpiece. If you don't want this, you can simply remove the pane. The M5 thread in theory only needs 2.5-3 thread turns to reach the full tensile strength of approx. 300kg - so there is no restriction in this regard.
Glass bead blasted finish : this brings out a velvety uniform surface. Our finish cannot be described as "matte" as it has a brilliant sheen. Furthermore, the blasting agent compacts the surface and brings with it a pleasant feel. The grain size of the blasting agent is in the 0.001 mm range.

A closed comb safety razor features a protective bar with small grooves that provide a smoother, less aggressive shave. It’s ideal for those with sensitive skin or for daily use, offering control and precision without causing irritation. Unlike open comb razors, closed comb razors are designed to limit the blade exposure for a safer shaving experience.
Closed comb razors have a protective bar that covers most of the blade, allowing for a smoother and less aggressive shave. Open comb razors, on the other hand, have teeth that expose more of the blade, providing a closer, more aggressive shave. Closed comb is ideal for beginners or those seeking a gentler experience, while open comb suits experienced users.
The frequency of blade replacement depends on how often you shave and the coarseness of your hair. Typically, a blade lasts between 5 to 7 shaves.
If you notice tugging, discomfort, or an increase in irritation, it’s time to change the blade. Regular blade replacement ensures a smoother, safer shave with better overall results.

It’s ideal for everyday use, providing a closer shave than cartridge razors while still being gentle on sensitive skin. The shave is precise and easy to control.
Yes, closed comb safety razors are excellent for sensitive skin. The design reduces direct contact between the blade and the skin, lowering the risk of irritation and cuts.
By controlling blade exposure, these razors provide a smoother, gentler shave, making them ideal for those who are prone to razor burn or have delicate skin.
Yes, closed comb safety razors are well-suited for daily shaving. Their design reduces the aggressiveness of the shave, making them gentle enough for regular use. If you have sensitive skin or prefer a more controlled shaving experience, closed comb razors allow you to shave frequently without worrying about irritation or discomfort.
Yes, closed comb safety razors can handle coarse hair, but you may need to use a sharper blade or shave more frequently to get the desired results. The closed comb design provides a more controlled shave, so it's gentler on the skin while still effective at cutting through thick or coarse facial hair. For best results, use a pre-shave oil to soften the hair.
